Chuck Israels brings years of experience playing with icons John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, Bud Powell, Benny Goodman, Stan Getz, JJ Johnson and Bill Evans, and writing for The Metropole Orchestra, the Hannover Philharmonic and the National Jazz Ensemble, to directing and creating the repertoire for a cohesive ensemble of some of Portland's best musicians. The orchestra has the flexibility and intimacy of a small ensemble and the power and color of a larger band.
