ICAA-NW at Work: A Tradition of Portland Craft
the Northwest Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art is pleased to present a series of three studio visits exploring the strong and thriving tradition of craftsmanship in Portland. Each intimately-sized tour goes behind the scenes at a local workshop, giving participants the chance to see first-hand the design and manufacturing processes of some of the leading artisans practicing in the region today. Part I: June 3 Visit The Joinery’s Southeast workshop, where handcrafted furniture is designed and produced. Part II: September 30 See the operations of Mudshark Studios, a custom ceramics manufacturing enterprise that’s made a national name for itself. Part III: November 4 Meet the founder of Moberg Fireplaces and see the design studio of this internationally respected fireplace architecture firm. Tours, which are free, are from 3-5 PM and will be followed by an informal reception with our craftsman hosts. Space is limited. For more information, please visit the ICAA-NW website.
