Lower Sandy Floating Cleanup
Enjoy a relaxing float down the lower section of the Sandy River while picking up trash to make it a more beautiful place for fish and wildlife who live there. This is the culmination of the first ever "Stash the Trash" summer on the Sandy, distributing mesh garbage bags throughout parks on the lower river, encouraging all recreators to pack it out. Volunteers of all skill levels over the age of ten, accompanied by an adult, are welcome. Wear appropriate clothing to get wet (avoid cotton) and footwear for walking along rocky beaches. Bring a water bottle, lunch snacks provided. We will meet at Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area, and leave cars to shuttle to our launch point at Dabney State Park. Please choose the appropriate ticket indicating whether you would like to reserve a raft seat OR if you have your own floatation, paddle and life vest (life vest required.) We look forward to seeing you on the river!
