Milky Way over Mt Hood at Lost Lake
The wonder and amazement of the Milky Way. Billions of stars stretching over the entire night sky. Take your photography to the next level and amaze your friends and family. I have been a professional photographer for over 12 years and my passion for photography goes well beyond that. I have been leading Milky Way workshops for the past 6 years and landscape workshops for 11 years. My book "Photographing the Milky Way" was published 3 years ago and is available on Amazon. I have picked a very special location for this workshop with an amazing view of Mt Hood with Lost Lake in the foreground. The timing of this workshop was selected when the Milky Way is positioned directly over Mt Hood and in a vertical position. There will some hiking (in the dark) from where we'll park to where we'll shoot (less than 1 mile out and back). Lecture with handouts containing all the information you'll need for shooting the stars. Personalized attention during the workshop. Camera settings for ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, and White Balance to get a perfect exposure. How to manually focus your camera in the challenging environment of the dark. Why shutter speed and focal length are so important when shooting stars. Overview and demonstration of night photography apps. Sunset and Milky Way photography. Post processing tips and techniques to create stunning Milky Way photographs. Upon registration you will receive detailed information regarding the workshop (meet and greet location, what to bring, etc). If weather conditions cancel this workshop, and alternate date will be offered or a full refund issued. Cancellations by participants are subject to my refund policies as outlined on my website for each workshop. In order to help me better prepare for this workshop, please provide me with the camera and lens you plan on using during the workshop.
