Oregon Traffic Incident Management (TIM) - Train the Trainer Event 2019
The Oregon Department of Transportation, Oregon State Police, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, Present the National Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Responder Train the Trainer program. This training is being provided free of charge, however, agencies or individuals are responsible for all travel related expenses including lodging and meals. The Train-the-Trainer (TtT) course is intended to provide participants (i.e., trainers) the knowledge and materials necessary for them to conduct TIM training for responders in their area or state. The TtT is a one-day course that covers 8 hours of material, The sessions include classroom training as well as hands-on table top activities. The target audience for this course is willing, enthusiastic and experienced trainers from all TIM disciplines, including: Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue, Emergency Medical Service, Towing and Recovery, Emergency Management, Communications, and Highway/Transportation. Those who complete the course will join Oregon’s cross-disciplined TIM training team, and will be expected to cooperatively assist with the delivery of the course to fellow responders within Oregon. Why train your responders in TIM? Responders are being struck and killed at traffic incidents in the US on an average of: 5 fire fighters each year, 1 law enforcement officer each month, 1 tow truck operator each week and numerous transportation professionals from DOT, Public Works and Safety Service Patrols each year. It is time to collaboratively enhance our safety and efficiency on incident scenes by training as a single cross disciplined team! Many Disciplines, One Mission – Safe, Quick Clearance.
