This training will be based on the information from Dr. Debra Em Wilson, founder of S’cool Moves. Dr. Wilson’s graduate work at the USQ Professional Studies Program focused on collaboration between OT’s and general educators to help all children reach their goals. Dr. Wilson is the author of Minute Moves for the Classroom, Focus Moves: Seven Steps to Implementation Success, and Power up! Moves: Seven Illuminating Strategies for Children Who Think and Learn Differently. Workshop Objectives:• Understand theory, back story and research that support S’cool Moves as an example of best practice.• Use strategies in the classroom that teach children to self-regulate and manage their own behavior.• Enhance collaboration between general education and special education through shared strategies.• Gain tools to create a sensory-supportive classroom and enhance school culture.
