Willamette Valley Bonsai Society

Wednesday, June 12, 2019, 2:00 AM - 4:00 AM

If you have a curiosity about Bonsai, the Japanese art of growing trees in containers, or if you simply want to learn more about a unique and fascinating approach to horticulture, join us for our monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. We welcome anyone from the curious novice to experienced master. Participating in the club meetings is an excellent way to learn the techniques of bonsai and discover local resources available for bonsai plant material, containers and provide hands on learning opportunities related to the art of bonsai and horticulture in general. The club also holds workshop sessions on the 3rd Thursday of each month to give and get help with personal trees. Check out our web site at http://www.willamettevalleybonsai.org

In May, the Willamette Valley Bonsai Society will host Andrew Robson of Rakuyo Bonsai. Andrew, a member and director of the Portland Bonsai Village and board member of the American Bonsai Society, will cover the cultivation of Satsuki azaleas. Satsuki azaleas have the ability to bloom profusely in a range of colors (take that conifers!) and can be styled into gorgeous bonsai. Be sure to join us for what is sure to be an enlightening and colorful evening.
